ACADEMIC INTEGRITY EXPECTATIONS
When we discuss integrity, we are referring to our ability and willingness to be honest and to do the right thing. We understand that honesty leads to trust. That sense of trust is a major component in our (CE)2/HSC program, and we work extremely hard to build a sense of mutual trust and respect within our classroom. Academic integrity therefore involves academic honesty. We expect that our students will complete their own work.
As a member of our program, your courses will be completed online. Students have immediate access to a wealth of information through the Internet. As a staff, we enjoy collaborating with our students, in hopes that as we work together to build trust and understanding, our students will come to see who they truly are: valued individuals, capable students, full of potential, who are capable of making the right decisions when it comes to completing their online courses on our Edgenuity platform. It is important that you complete your own work and do not allow others to copy your work. Please reach out to your teacher for help when you come to difficult portions of your coursework, and we can help you through a GoogleMeet, phone call, or email.
When we make honest choices, that shows our integrity, which is our commitment to becoming a more well-rounded person, for our own benefit, but also for the benefit of our positive classroom climate. Academic Integrity leads to: Confidence, pride in your own work, a sense of accomplishment, a greater sense of classroom community.
WHAT IS PLAGIARISM?
· To steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one’s own.
· Use (another’s production) without crediting the source.
· Merriam-Webster Dictionary
